Gene is co-director of Evanston Family Therapy Center, a small non-profit training institution which focuses on narrative approaches to therapy. He is an internationally known author and teacher of narrative family therapy with a particular focus on social justice. Now retired from his work as a psychiatrist, he has a continuing skepticism and critique concerning current medical-model practices in psychiatry, and the influence of corporate capitalism on healthcare.
